UH Tradition

Buggy Beauties are one of the oldest traditions at the University of Houston. They are currently a group four of girls, sponsored by dedicated UH alumni. At all UH home football games, the Buggy Beauties stand and cheer for the team on the sidelines. Each time the UH team scores a touchdown the girls run and jump on a large helmet shapped golfcart and ride across the field waving at fans to increase excitement and team morale. This tradition dates many years back and has continued to be a tradition at the university thanks to the dedication and help from alum.

  4. The Buggy Beauties is a group of girls; however, there is one boy who drives the cart for us. He does not cheer with us but he does stand on the sidelines with us.
This will be my third and final year as a buggy beauty. We have a new addition to the team this year, who will be replacing one of our girls who is graduating in May. Buggy Beauties are completly seperate from the cheerleaders. We have our own sponsors and seperate practices.
